What is a doula?

A “Birthing Doula” refers to a supportive companion (other than a friend or loved one) who is professionally trained to provide labor support.
As a birthing doula, I will work with you to ensure that you have the information and answers you need to make decisions that are best for you. I will educate you and advocate for you and work to make your choices happen, as much as possible. I will provide physical, emotional and informational support to you and your partner during labor and birth. I will help with comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, massage and varied positions to give you the most comfortable delivery possible.

I will seek to strengthen the relationship between you and your partner by working with you both as a team.
